Responsible Breeder of Champion Alaskan Malamutes. Outstanding health , temperament and representatives of the breed for 5 generations and counting , Exceptional Puppies for Family Companions
A breeder’s greatest responsibility is making sure that every single pup they bring into this world goes to the safest, lovingest, most excellent home possible. At KalaMals our litters are whelped in our home and are raised "underfoot" until they are ready to go to their new homes at 8-12 weeks of age. All puppies are started on basic obedience, crate-training and housebreaking. We stress proper socialization and training at an early age. Every puppy is sold on a AKC non-breeding agreement. Each puppy will be sent home with an inclusive puppy package with parent’s pedigrees, training/grooming tips, and information about your puppy. After filling out our questionnaire you will be kept up to date with our current litters and future plans.. When a breeding is confirmed you will be contacted in regards to our litter waiting list.
~Puppies are sold by reservation and held only with a $200.00 deposit. Our dogs are available to approved homes only.
~They are registered with AKC on Limited Registration / non breeding contract -- without exception.
~AKC Micro-chipped, Up-to-date on all shots and wormed
~Contract requirements are for the proper care, health and safety of the dog.
~If for ANY reason, you must part with one of our dogs, at ANY age, we reserve first chance to get it back.
~If you would like to meet our dogs in person, visits to our home are welcomed on an appointment only after we received your questionnaire are you are approved for a puppy
~ Once we have received your questionnaire we will contact you about your application . You will be asked to send photos of your fenced yard
A fenced yard is required for a Kalamal puppy. An underground fence , "Lots of Land" nor dog parks will work with this breed .
At Kalamals, it is not about mass-producing puppies, or finishing the largest number of champions. It is about breeding healthy, quality representatives of the breed and placing them in loving permanent homes. Our puppies/dogs excel in the show ring, but excel most as companions in the hearts and lives of the people who love them. When a breeding is confirmed you will be contacted in regards to our litter waiting list. When puppies are born they are then sold by reservation and held only with a deposit. If you have a reservation on a puppy and you change your mind, the deposit is non-refundable as potential puppy buyers may have been turned away. The reason for the deposit is it lets me know you are truly interested and commited to a puppy, If for whatever reason I do not have a puppy available I will refund your deposit. Puppies are chosen in the order in which the reservation with deposit is received, with show puppies being chosen first. All puppies are sold with a written sales contract which includes a lifetime of help, advice and assistance to all our puppy buyers!
We are committed to helping preserve the Alaskan Malamute in a continuing effort to do everything possible to advocate responsible ownership and education, which create a strong foundation in the best interest of our canine companions. As ethical and responsible breeders, we believe it is our responsibility to maintain the unique breed characteristics and natural qualities of the breed. We strongly encourage and adhere to ethical breeding practices and strive for quality Alaskan Malamutes in health, structure, and temperament. Health screening of potential sires and dams and extensive pedigree research are utilized when making breeding decisions at KalaMals . If you are interested in an Alaskan malamute from us, we encourage you to complete our puppy placement application. Once your application and yard photos have been received and accepted we will place you on our waiting list. Once pregnancy has been confirmed we will then contact you by email to be placed in line for a puppy from said litter at which time you will be asked to sign and return a deposit agreement
Delightful and beautiful, 16 months old, 55-60 lbs, spayed, chipped, up to date on preventative meds, lives in western Massachusetts.
Good: Loving, devoted, playful, eager, healthy, loves tummy rubs, always greets with her whole heart, wants to be with her people, loves to run in her big backyard, talkative, funny, prefers being outdoors in daytime, has never been destructive in the home (tho she has a bone when left for hours)
Bad: Possessive of her toys and food, this has escalated and she has become increasingly aggressive with our equally possessive male terrier
Needs: Lots of love, good training with leash, strong boundaries, firm fence, needs to be the only dog in the house, probably a home with no young children. She’s very respectful of boundaries. Has never gotten on furniture or bed, doesn’t counter-surf. Obeys indoors
Owners: So sad to make this difficult decision but believe it’s in the interest of safety for slightly older, much smaller terrier. Both dogs deserve a peaceful living situation.
Moxie is show trained with half her AKC points and very sweet . She is four years old , very healthy , chipped, and gets along with most males here. Needs a yard with a fence with no cats or other female dogs in home . Fee would be cost of her being spayed
07/ 12 /19 - Will reduce puppy price !!! Baby Girl from last litter was sold and went home with new owner .
Owner writes .......
Hi julie...I am sorry but I need to return your beautiful puppy. It is not her at all, but me. This is much more work than I expected or even remembered I have to admit, but, more importantly, after really really thinking about it, she deserves an owner who is much more active and healthier than I am.
I am afraid I will not be able to provide the best home possible for her in that regard and should have been honest with myself about that prior to seeking a puppy. I love her enough already to recognize that and want the best home possible for her. It would not be fair to let either of us to get anymore attached to one another. There are no issues with her at all. She even listens really well and has been doing great with my cats and responding to training with them. I just want her to be happy and have a fun, healthy and active life with the right owner. I apologize for any inconvenience, please know I am not a bad person, but need to do the right thing for her
